"If you consider that we cannot save them all, and what difference does one make, you ought to know the joy of the one who is saved." -Jim Willis

The Spotlight is ON Braveheart

BRAVEHEART, A Different Type of Purebred

Braveheart is a prime example of the ultimate hybrid. A purebred that will never again be duplicated! Braveheart is a mixed breed canine that comes with unknown bloodlines but the blood that courses through his veins is red, pure, strong and healthy. Braveheart is a mix of breeds that resulted in a dog that has all the best characteristics of each breed that contributed to his being born; a honey of a hound.

Braveheart was found in the wild; a sickly, bleeding, emaciated, lonely and cold puppy 6-9 month old. He was nursed back to a state of health such as he had never known. Given his new health he responded with a playful and loving attitude toward his foster parents and was soon adopted. Being transported 1200 miles to his new home proved to be too much of a strain on B/H and he developed a skin reaction that caused him undue itching, scratching, bleeding and suffering. He was transported back to Tennessee, another trip of 1200 miles that caused additional stress. He was again placed in a foster home and treated. After 2 years there have not been any problems with him or his health. Could a purebred have endured such a stressful experience? Maybe; but because of B/H’s exceptionally strong constitution, the result of his varied heritage, he was able to overcome and ultimately thrive!

Today B/H is a healthy, loving, playful member of the family who is ready for adoption to a family that will continue to give him the love and care that all pets need.

Although healthy and active he will not be transported to his PAWfect home but will be driven there by his foster parents to eliminate any stress and ensure a smooth and happy transition.
