ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE IN PRIVATE FOSTER HOMES. THEY ARE BEING WELL
SOCIALIZED,
LEASH TRAINED, CRATE TRAINED AND HOUSE TRAINED.
JAKE
Hello, my name is Jake and I am about 6 months old. I am a Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog. I was recently taken into foster care when my owner couldn't keep me anymore. I am very healthy and happy. I have been neutered and fully vaccinated. I am well on my way to learning how to walk on a leash and I am being crate and house trained. I've always lived outside for my short life but soon I'll know exactly what living inside with a family is all about. Click here to see more pictures of me.
BRAVEHEART
Hi y’all! I’m Braveheart, a Tennessee Treeing Brindle Hound. I need love and attention and lots of both. You can see by checking out my pictures (here) that I am super friendly, very energetic and I like back-scratching. Born in October 2007 I am a bit over two years old so in dog years I’m just a teenager. I had developed a skin condition but now I’m fine and it stays away as long as I get my daily meds. I’ve got all the love and energy that makes for a fine companion. I play well with other dogs, one at a time, and I really love grownups and teenagers. I love loooong walks, lots of runnin’, chasin’ balls and Cheetos (not too many). I voluntarily go into my crate whenever I see my foster folks getting ready to leave but I love going with them when I can and I’m a great traveler. E-mail Cathy at realitchec@hotmail.com for more information about Braveheart.Click here to see more pictures of Braveheart.
PEANUT
This is Peanut. He is a 6 year old mini Poodle. His owner was unable to keep him and surrendered him to one of our foster moms. He is a very sweet little boy...about 7lbs. He loves to sit on your lap and watch television. He will follow you anywhere you will lead him. Peanut is very outgoing once he gets to know you. He is housetrained, crate trained and leash trained. Although he may do fine with small children we feel that he would do best in a home with older children or no children. He has never bitten but he does not like his feet touched and will let you know it. Peanut is neutered, fully vaccinated and ready for his furever home. Click here for more pictures of Peanut.
KOBE
Meet Kobe, a very social 13wk old Lab mix. He was found with his sister (Lexi) and they were lost in the woods. A very nice lady is now fostering them and they are learning all the wonders of what a puppy's world should be about. Kobe has been wormed and vaccinated and are ready to find his forever home. Please contact Cathy if you would like more information on one of these wonderful pups realitchec@hotmail.com . Click here to see more pictures of Kobe.
CHELSEA
Tiggers bounce! So does Chelsea. Chelsea was left by the side of a busy intersection between two campgrounds. She patiently waited for the owners to come back and get her, but they never did. She was fed by concerned neighbors but when she started chasing cows, the threat to shot her was given. She was rescued from this situation and brought to a foster home where she is happy, healthy and active. She loves everyone and is very active and loves to play. She gets on well with other dogs but will have a race with cats. She does bounce, but has never tried to “jump“her fenced area. She is vocal and lets you know when anyone or anything is about. Chelsea is medium sized at approx.40 pounds, a beautiful golden brown with black markings and tipped ears. Chelsea would be a wonderful addition to an active, happy family. Full of love and ready to give and receive! Please contact Cathy at realitchec@hotmail.com for more information on Chelsea. Click here to see more pictures of this girl.
SPIRIT
Spirit is properly named. She was driven out of her litter by her littermates when she was about 5 months old. She is now 8 months and has learned that not all dogs are mean to her. She is extremely people friendly and loves attention. She is also a very smart girl and is learning some basic commands very quickly. She loves to play with the dogs in her foster home but is tentative when she meets a new dog. We feel this is from her early experiences with her littermates. She is always wagging her tail to show you how happy she is to see you. Spirit has lots of potential as a wonderful new family member. She has been spay and is fully vaccinated. She is only about 25lbs and is full grown. Click here if you would like to see more pictures of Spirit.
Special Needs TESS
Talk
to Cathy about this pretty lady. Her name is Tess. She's
a 3 year old Mountain Feist that weighs about 40 pounds.
She is very energetic and gets along well with other
dogs, but she positively does not like cats! Tess is
a little bit shy around people she doesn't know and
it takes her a little while to warm up to them. Tess
is leash trained, crate trained, and house trained.
She is current on her shots and is spayed. Tess has
never had a home of her own and would be so eager to
meet someone who would like to adopt her. Cathy can
be reached at realitchec@hotmail.com.
Special Needs SCRUFFY
UPDATE: Please consider fostering Scruffy. Although she is on medication and special food our organization will supply everything. You just supply the love.
I'm
Scruffy, and I have a long story to tell. Actually,
I think I'll let Cathy, my foster mom, tell you the
details when you call to ask about me. I have a liver
shunt, which means that I don't digest my food properly.
It took a long time for the vet to find out what was
wrong with me. I had tests and special diets galore!
The Pickett County Humane Society and a generous donor
supplied enough money to have me evaluated at the University
of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital, and they decided to
treat me with herbal medicines and a special diet. Is
it any wonder that I want a lot of attention? I don't
like other animals. Give me a human any day! I'm a Jack
Russell born at the end of March in 2005. I'm housebroken,
leash trained and crate trained. I'm also spayed and
up to date on all vaccinations. I love my foster home,
but I think it's high time I got a home of my own. Wouldn't
you like to give me a chance?
